Nobody would approach someone they were attracted to and say “hey let’s get married”. Rather, you would gently introduce yourself, find common ground, remain on your best behavior and grow the relationship.

Courting a customer is the same way. You should never jump in and press a sale. Describe what your product/service is, see if they are interested. Detail the benefits and the why of your company. Encourage them to seek more information, engage with your site, watch videos and read testimonials. Ask for information through a contact form.

When you actually connect with a customer stress how your company can solve their problem – not just generate a sale. Build a real affinity as you would in dating and you will win both the initial sale and secure a long-term relationship.
